SSH Telnet
Discover what Telnet is and where it’s employed.
SSH, which is an abbreviation for Secure Shell, is a network protocol which is used to transfer protected info between a client and a server, which makes it impossible for unauthorized parties to intercept any information. Many tech-savvy users opt for SSH because of the improved level of security. The connection is made and the commands are delivered via a command line. The offered options depend on the type of web hosting service - on a shared server, in particular, files may be transferred or deleted, databases could be imported and exported, and archives may be created or unpacked. On a virtual or a dedicated server, the choices are a lot more - the web server and the database server could be started/stopped/rebooted, server-side software can be set up and much more. These things are not possible on a shared server, for the reason that full root access is required and all the other clients on that server would be affected. While SSH is used predominantly with UNIX-like Operating Systems, there are SSH clients for other OSs as well - Windows, Mac OS, and so on.

SSH Telnet in Hosting
SSH access is available with all
hosting that we provide. With some of them, it's featured as standard, while with others it's an additional upgrade which you can include with a couple of clicks from your website hosting CP. You can obtain SSH access through the section dedicated to it where you will also find the info that you need to connect - the host, the port number and the username. You may choose the password which you will use and, if needed, you will be able to change it with several mouse clicks from the same place. All commands which may be used with our shared packages are listed inside a help article along with relevant examples. If the SSH access feature is allowed for your account, you will also be able to upload files using your favorite FTP client via an SFTP connection.

SSH Telnet in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you have a
semi-dedicated server account with us, you shall be able to receive SSH access to it with just a mouse click from the corresponding section of the Hepsia hosting CP, supplied with all accounts. If your package does not support this function by default, you shall be able to include it with ease via the Upgrades menu. As soon as you go to the SSH section, you'll find the information that you need to connect to the server using a command line or a desktop application - the server/host, the port number, the username and the password. The latter could be updated at any time, when required. These login credentials are also required if you'd like to upload files through a secure connection and you would like to use SFTP, which is also part of the SSH access service that we offer. A thorough list of the commands you can execute will give you a better idea of what tasks you can perform inside your account and each is accompanied by a couple of instances of the syntax.

SSH Telnet in VPS Servers
The
VPS server solutions we offer feature SSH access by default, not as an additional upgrade or a feature that you must activate. The moment your new server is prepared, you shall be able to connect and start working on your content through the login details which you have entered throughout the order process. A copy of the SSH credentials shall be sent to you via e-mail too. Since your VPS shall be isolated from the other ones on the physical hosting server, there aren't any limitations as to what you can or cannot do using SSH. You are able to download, install and manage any piece of software that will run on a Linux machine, reboot the entire server or just a certain software component, and work with files, folders and databases without restrictions. All you'll need for this is a console or an SSH client on your end.
