If you decide to transfer a domain from one company to another, you will have to pass through a couple of security steps. One of them is obtaining a special EPP code from the present registrar company – as long as you are the domain registrant, since the code is sent to the owner's email and no one else can see it. You have to give this code to the new domain registrar, or else they won’t be able to initiate the transfer process. The EPP codes are case-sensitive and may contain digits or special characters such as dots or commas, which can be easily mistyped, so make sure you copy and paste the right code. As an additional safety measure, the transfer authorization code for a domain may be reset on a regular basis. Some registrars call this code a domain password, a domain secret or an Auth key as well.
EPP Transfer Protection in Hosting
In case you have a hosting, you’ve registered a domain through our company and you’d like to transfer it away from us, you can obtain its EPP authorization code with no more than several clicks of the mouse. When you sign in to your Hepsia Control Panel and navigate to the Registered Domains section, you will see all the domain names that you have registered through our company shown in alphabetical order. On the right-hand side of each domain name, you will see a mini EPP icon for all generic and country-code top-level domain name extensions that require an EPP code in order to be transferred between registrar companies. Clicking on the icon will email the code to the domain registrant’s email momentarily. In the exact same section you can also see and eventually change the email, if the one there isn’t valid any longer.
EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you would like to transfer any domain name that is registered under a semi-dedicated server account to another company, you can obtain its EPP transfer authorization code with several clicks from the Hepsia hosting Control Panel. All registered domains will be shown in an independent section of the Control Panel. Quick-access buttons will enable you to use different functions. To obtain the transfer code, you simply have to click on the EPP button, which will be on the right-hand side of any domain whose TLD extension supports transfers with a transfer authorization code. Our system will email the code to the domain owner’s email address, which is presently listed in the domain name’s WHOIS record. If you want, you can update this email address from the exact same section of the Control Panel before requesting the transfer authorization code. The update will propagate right away, so you won’t have to wait for the new email address to show up on WHOIS web sites.
